Key takeaways
Inflammation is a normal part of how the body protects and repairs itself, but everyday factors can keep it running too long.
This protocol describes nutritional support commonly used to encourage a healthy inflammatory response.
Anti-inflammatory foods and daily habits remain the foundation, and the article also explains inflammaging.

The mechanisms this protocol supports
Inflammatory signaling is meant to switch on, do its job and then switch off again, a process called resolution. Omega-3 fats help the body make specialized molecules that support that resolution, and plant compounds such as curcumin and quercetin influence inflammatory signaling inside cells.
The gut microbiome trains much of the immune system, so a balanced microbiome supports calmer immune signaling throughout the body. Diet, sleep, stress, blood sugar balance and activity levels all shape inflammation as well.
Research has linked chronic low-grade inflammation, sometimes called inflammaging, with many age-related changes in the heart, joints and brain. Supplements can support a balanced response, but the foundation is an eating pattern rich in vegetables, fruit, healthy fats and fiber.
What is in the protocol
The exact products and directions are listed in the Fullscript plan, and here is what each one is commonly used to support.
Curcumin Phytosome is a more absorbable form of curcumin from turmeric that is commonly used to support a healthy inflammatory response. OmegAvail fish oil from Ortho Molecular Products provides concentrated EPA and DHA, omega-3 fats that support cell membranes and a balanced inflammatory response.
Pro-Biome 50B from Integrative Therapeutics is a multi-strain Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium probiotic with chicory root fiber that supports a balanced gut microbiome. Quercetin is a plant flavonoid that is commonly used to support healthy immune signaling and antioxidant defenses.

How to use it thoughtfully
Please talk with your provider before starting, especially if you take medications, are pregnant or nursing, or have a health condition. This page does not list amounts, so follow the label or the specific guidance your provider gives you. When you can, add one product at a time so it is easier to notice how you feel.
Sleep, nourishing food, daily movement and stress care are the foundation, and supplements are meant to build on them. Fish oil, curcumin and quercetin can affect bleeding or interact with some medications, so tell your provider if you take a blood thinner or have surgery planned.
Questions to bring to your clinician
These questions can help you get the most out of your next visit.
Which inflammation markers could we use to see whether this kind of support is a fit for me?
Could any of my current medications or supplements interact with the options discussed here?
Would any lab testing add useful information in my situation, or is it reasonable to start with daily habits?
Which one or two changes would be most worthwhile for me to focus on first?
