Healthy blood pressure is one of the most important parts of long-term cardiovascular wellness. This protocol gathers the nutritional products I commonly use to support healthy circulation alongside the everyday habits that matter most.

The mechanisms this protocol supports
Blood vessels relax and tighten in response to signals such as nitric oxide, which is made by the endothelium, the thin lining inside every blood vessel. Electrolytes matter too, because the balance of sodium, potassium and magnesium affects fluid balance and how easily vessel walls relax.
Oxidative stress and chronic low-grade inflammation are among the main drivers of blood vessel aging, which is one reason vascular health is closely tied to how we age.
Research has found that getting more potassium and magnesium can modestly lower blood pressure readings, especially in people with high blood pressure. If you take blood pressure medication, please do not change it on your own, and check with your prescriber before adding anything new.
What is in the protocol
The exact products and directions are listed in the Fullscript plan, and here is what each one is commonly used to support.
Magnesium Citrate provides magnesium, a mineral involved in normal muscle and blood vessel relaxation. Garlic Complex provides garlic compounds that are commonly used to support healthy circulation and blood vessel function. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that supports blood vessel health and collagen formation.
K+2 Potassium provides potassium, a key mineral for fluid balance and normal blood pressure regulation. Hawthorn is a traditional botanical that is commonly used to support heart and circulatory health.
How to use it thoughtfully
Please talk with your provider before starting, especially if you take medications, are pregnant or nursing, or have a health condition. This page does not list amounts, so follow the label or the specific guidance your provider gives you. When you can, add one product at a time so it is easier to notice how you feel. Sleep, nourishing food, daily movement and stress care are the foundation, and supplements are meant to build on them.
Potassium supplements are not appropriate with some blood pressure medications and kidney conditions, so please check with your prescriber first. Keep checking your blood pressure at home or with your provider so you both have real numbers to look at.

These questions can help you get the most out of your next visit.
Could any part of this protocol interact with my blood pressure medication?
Could any of my current medications or supplements interact with the options discussed here?
Would any lab testing add useful information in my situation, or is it reasonable to start with daily habits?
Which one or two changes would be most worthwhile for me to focus on first?
Practitioner-grade options in my Fullscript catalog: if you and your clinician decide a supplement makes sense, my supplement guide by health goal links to the practitioner-grade products I trust.
Frequently asked questions
Why are potassium and magnesium included?
Potassium and magnesium both help regulate fluid balance and blood vessel relaxation, and research has linked low intake of each with higher blood pressure readings.
Can I use this instead of my blood pressure medication?
No, this protocol is nutritional support only, so please keep taking your medication as prescribed and talk with your prescriber before making any changes.
Do I need an appointment to order these products?
No, you can create a free Fullscript account and order directly, although I always recommend checking with your own provider first, and a free 15-minute consult is available if you would like to talk it through.
