Dr. Ryan Kneessi, ND, is a Maryland-licensed naturopathic doctor with 10 years in practice, and he sees people by telehealth anywhere in Maryland. Video visits cover the same conversation and education as an office visit, so you can work with a naturopathic doctor from Baltimore, Frederick, the Eastern Shore, Southern Maryland or anywhere else in the state without the drive.
Start with a free 15-minute consult to talk about what you are looking for and whether telehealth is a good fit.
How telehealth visits work
1. Free 15-minute consult. A short call to talk about your goals and answer your questions, with no obligation.
2. New patient visit. A longer video visit where Dr. Kneessi goes through your health history, sleep, stress, meals, digestion, medications, supplements and any lab work you already have, and explains in plain language how those pieces may connect.
3. Your written plan. You receive an educational plan built around nutrition and daily habits and, when it makes sense, botanicals or nutrients, with the reasoning behind each suggestion.
4. Follow-up visits. Shorter visits to review what has been working, adjust the plan and decide on next steps together. The page on how I work walks through each step in more detail.
Telehealth hours
Tuesday through Thursday, visits are in the Odenton office or by telehealth, and Monday and Friday are telehealth only, all from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern. You need to be located in Maryland at the time of each telehealth visit.
Cost and payment
The free 15-minute consult costs nothing. A new patient visit is $395 and a follow-up visit is $95, the same as in the office. The practice is cash-pay, and HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Naturopathic doctors in Maryland are not currently able to contract with insurance companies, so it is worth checking eligibility with your plan administrator.
Working alongside your other doctors
In Maryland, naturopathic doctors do not serve as primary care providers, so Dr. Kneessi works alongside your primary care doctor and any specialists you see, and he is glad to share his notes with them when you ask. You can confirm his license with the Maryland Board of Physicians practitioner search, and the page on finding a naturopathic doctor in Maryland explains how licensing works.
If you are comparing options across the state, the guides on finding a naturopathic doctor in Maryland, a functional medicine doctor in Maryland, and a holistic and integrative doctor in Maryland explain how to check a license and what to ask before you book.
